Bit College Basketball 1.0.19 is the biggest update since launch: tournaments all season long, a rebuilt awards show, players with real personalities, and the fix for the score bug a lot of you reported.
1.0.20 is in the works, and a bigger update is coming after that.
New Features
- Added preseason tournaments: before your first game, your Athletic Director can bring you an invitation to an early-season event
- Added a bracket and a trophy to each preseason tournament
- Added offers that show the field's strength, the games, the appearance fee and the title purse
- Added the choice to take a preseason tournament invitation or decline it
- Added the NBIT, a postseason tournament for the 32 best programs that miss the BCAA field, in four regions of 8
- Added conference play-ins, so every team plays its conference tournament
- Added play-in games for the last spots, where teams below the cut play in
- Made sure no top seed loses its bye
- Added the TOURNAMENTS hub to follow every bracket this season: open Rankings and tap Tournaments, next to Bracket Watch
- Added every bracket to the hub: yours first, then the BCAA, the NBIT and all 32 conference tournaments
- Added spoiler protection, so a bracket only shows the rounds played so far
- Added one awards board with every honor on it
- Added an optional awards show at the end of the regular season and at the end of the year
- Added a prompt after you tap AWARDS, on the regular-season wrap or at the end of the year, asking if you want to attend the show
- Added ATTEND, which plays the show one honor at a time with your players in gold
- Added SKIP, which goes straight to the board
- Added REPLAY, which brings the show back
- Added four new awards: Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player, Senior of the Year and the Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player
- Added the Trophy Room, which holds every title you have won across every save, each shown as its trophy (Settings, then TROPHY ROOM)
- Added trophies for national titles, conference tournaments, regular-season conference titles, preseason tournaments and the NBIT
- Added a TROPHY WON banner on the dashboard when you win a new title
- Added an achievements page: open Settings inside a dynasty, then ACHIEVEMENTS
- Added your percent complete and the day you earned each achievement
- Added five new achievements: Regular-Season Crown, Preseason Champion, NBIT Champion, From the Play-In and the Triple Crown (the regular season, the conference tournament and the national title in one season)
- Added Game Center leaderboards on iPhone and iPad for Legacy Score, career wins and national titles
- Added LEADERBOARDS to the YOUR COACH card, where the first tap signs you in
- Kept sandbox saves off the boards
- Note: in a save from before the update, the play-ins and the preseason invitation may wait until your next season
Dynasty Improvements
- Made conference tournament games count on Selection Sunday
- Made the committee weigh your record more
- Printed every team's quadrant record in the selection show
- Showed where the last teams in landed on the selection show's bubble board
- Added a RESUMES screen that opens every bubble team's résumé
- Added title money: your AD pays a purse when you win a title
- Added a $1M purse for the national title
- Added a $500K purse for the NBIT
- Added $100K to $500K purses for a conference tournament or a preseason tournament, depending on its level
- Added donor payouts for BCAA tournament runs, and the deeper the run, the bigger the payout
- Added a second round to the draft
- Rebuilt morale, so every player's mood comes with a line telling you why
- Tied the room together with team chemistry
- Changed how every player's mood rises and falls based on his personality
- Gave every player one of 15 personalities: Fiery, Quiet Pro, Jokester, Laid Back, Old Soul, Perfectionist, Showman, Grounded, Social, Humble, Patient, Creature of Habit, Stubborn, Wide-Eyed and Pragmatist
- Added seven new personalities, which show up on future recruits and walk-ons
- Made a Stubborn player slow to sour and slow to come around
- Made a Social player feed on the room's chemistry
- Made a Fiery player and a Laid Back player take the same week differently
- Showed any rostered player's personality, what it does and his traits when you tap WHO HE IS
- Note: in a save you already have, your current players keep the personality they had
Gameplay
- Added neutral-site games for preseason tournaments and the NBIT
- Added a BRACKET button next to GAME DAY on the dashboard on event days
- Improved player traits, 24 in all, that shape how players play and fit
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the opening tip bug, where on road games scoring right off the tip could move your points to the other team
- Fixed SIM so it runs the Monday update (rankings, the poll and the recruiting week), the same as playing day by day
- Fixed opponents so they keep the same players all season
- Fixed MOMENTS so your steals and blocks count for you in the box score
- Fixed the ad button so it only says LIVE when an ad is ready
- Fixed a lot of smaller issues
